# OnlyFans content strategy: what to post and how often

Written by the Pout Marketing Team Last checked: 25 September 2026 6 minute read

The short answer

A content strategy decides what you make, where each piece goes and how often you post. Start with a clear niche and a few content pillars, use the feed to keep subscribers renewing, pay-per-view and messages for extra content, and free social posts to attract new visitors. Post at a pace you can sustain, batch your work, and keep what earns renewals.

Our free review looks at what you post now and which content keeps your subscribers renewing.

## At a glance

- A clear niche helps the right people recognise and remember you.
- Three to five content pillars keep your feed varied without losing focus.
- Feed, PPV, messages and social teasers each do a different job.
- The right posting rhythm is one you can keep up every week.
- Written limits and planned time off protect you from burnout.

## What does a content strategy cover?

This guide is about planning what you make and where it goes. It is not about which social platforms to use, which our guide on [how to promote an OnlyFans page](https://poutagency.com/guides/how-to-promote-an-onlyfans) covers, or what to charge, which is in our [pricing strategy guide](https://poutagency.com/guides/onlyfans-pricing-strategy).

A good plan gives subscribers a reason to renew, gives new visitors a reason to join and fits into a week you can actually live with.

## How do I choose a niche and content pillars?

Your niche is what you are known for: a style, a theme, a personality or an interest that runs through your content. A clear niche helps the right people recognise you quickly and gives them a reason to choose you. It can be as simple as a hobby, an aesthetic or the way you talk to your audience. [Faceless creators](https://poutagency.com/guides/glossary#faceless-creator) build niches too, around themes rather than faces.

Content pillars are the three to five recurring types of content within that niche. For example: behind the scenes, themed sets, chatty updates and fan-voted content. Pillars keep the feed varied, make planning easier and let you see which types subscribers value most.

## Where should each type of content go?

Each place you post does a different job. Planning with that in mind stops you giving away what should be paid for, or hiding what should draw people in.

| Where | Purpose | What goes there |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Subscription feed | Keeps subscribers renewing | Your regular pillars, posted at a steady rhythm |
| Pay-per-view | Extra earnings from fans who want more | Longer or special content, described honestly before purchase |
| Messages | Relationship with fans and personal requests | Replies, check-ins and custom content within your written limits |
| Free social teasers | Brings new visitors to your page | Content that follows each platform’s rules and shows your personality |

If anyone helps you with messages, chat support should follow the platform’s terms and your written limits, and never mislead fans. Check the platform’s terms on who may operate and message from an account. Our [fan messaging service](https://poutagency.com/services/fan-messaging) explains how we handle this.

## What does a weekly planning rhythm look like?

There is no fixed number of posts that works for everyone. The right rhythm is one you can keep up for months, because a steady pace usually beats bursts followed by silence. A simple weekly cycle might be:

- Review: look at last week’s posts, messages and sales, and note what fans responded to.
- Plan: choose the week’s posts across your pillars, plus any PPV and social teasers.
- Batch: create several pieces in one or two sessions rather than every day.
- Schedule: queue feed posts and social posts so they go out without you being online.
- Rest: keep at least some time fully offline, and protect it.

Batching saves time on setting up, getting ready and editing, and gives you a buffer for weeks when life gets in the way. Keep a small backlog of ready content so one bad week does not break your rhythm.

## How do I measure what earns renewals?

Tag each post with its pillar, then each month compare your [renewal rate](https://poutagency.com/guides/glossary#renewal-rate) and PPV sales with what you posted. Over a few months, patterns appear: some pillars keep people subscribed, others draw likes but little else.

Do more of what keeps people renewing and less of what does not. Our [page KPI calculator](https://poutagency.com/tools/kpi-calculator) works out renewal rate and churn from your own figures, and our guide on [how to grow an OnlyFans page](https://poutagency.com/guides/how-to-grow-an-onlyfans) explains how renewals fit with the other growth levers.

## How do written limits help prevent burnout?

Write down what you will and will not make, how often you will post and when you are off. Share the list with anyone who helps you. Written limits make requests easier to turn down, stop your plan from creeping beyond what you agreed with yourself, and protect your privacy.

Burnout is a real risk when creating, promoting and messaging never stop. Build rest into the plan rather than waiting until you need it. Our guide to [creator burnout and wellbeing](https://poutagency.com/guides/creator-burnout-and-wellbeing) covers boundaries, abuse and where to get free support in the UK.

## What are the red flags in content advice?

- A fixed number of posts a day presented as a rule everyone must follow.
- Pressure to make content outside your written limits.
- Teasers that break a social platform’s rules to get more clicks.
- Describing PPV content as more than it is.
- Anyone posting or messaging in your name without your approval.
- A plan with no time off built in.

## How Pout approaches this

Pout is an independent creator management agency for OnlyFans and Fansly. We build a written content plan around your niche and your limits, agree it with you in writing, and review what earns renewals with you each month in plain English. You approve anything posted in your name, and your account stays with you. Our [complete guide to OnlyFans and Fansly management agencies](https://poutagency.com/guides/onlyfans-fansly-management-agencies) explains how this fits into management as a whole.

## Common questions about content planning for creators

### How often should I post on OnlyFans?

There is no fixed number that works for everyone. Choose a rhythm you can keep up every week, then check your renewal rate to see whether it is enough for your subscribers.

### Should I post my best content on the feed or as PPV?

Both have a job. The feed needs to be good enough that subscribers feel their subscription is worth it. PPV works for longer or special content that some fans want more of.

### Can I plan content without showing my face?

Yes. Many creators build a niche around themes, styles or voice instead. Our [faceless creators page](https://poutagency.com/faceless-creators) explains how we support this.

### What should I do when I run out of ideas?

Go back to your pillars and your numbers. Look at what earned renewals before, ask fans what they would like to see, and keep a running list of ideas as they come.
